Pedicle screws are medical implants made of titanium or stainless steel. They are used in spinal fusion surgery to secure rods and plates to the spine. The screws are inserted through the vertebral pedicles at the back of the spinal bones and act as anchor points. They are usually placed in 2 or 3 consecutive spinal segments and connected by a rod.
